Goodyear Heights is a community of dreamers and do-ers. We have what it takes to make and keep our neighborhood a great place to live, work and play. Goodyear Heights Community Development Corporation is the result of more than a decade of community organizing, parks projects, and neighborhood events now coming together to take the next step in securing a strong and vibrant future for everyone who calls our neighborhood home.
Over the next ten years we want to see Goodyear Heights on the map of places to live, work, and play for the greater Akron area. We want to invest in and encourage small business owners and entrepreneurs through events and neighborhood spaces that offer accessible and affordable platforms for business startups. And we want to come together to plan for the future of housing stability, because everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home.

Neighborhood Placemaking
We know Gooyear Heights is a great place to live and play in. We want others to discover this to through neighborhood historical designation and anchor events that bring greater Akron in to discover all that Goodyear Heights has to offer.
Our 2025 Goal:
Host a Bicentennial 5K through Goodyear Heights highlighting the history and future of the neighborhood.

Small Business Support
Goodyear Heights is home to dreamers and entrepreneurs, just like you. We want to highlight, support, and resource our neighborhood small businesses through events and affordable and accessible space for small businesses to grow and thrive.
Our 2025 Goal:
Host small business seminars for local entrepreneurs and dreamers to gain knowledge and connections with local and regional sources of small business funding.

Housing Stability
As our neighborhood housing ages and new development happens, we want to advocate for, organize, and support healthy, affordable housing for everyone.
Our 2025 Goal:
Contact with a neighborhood planning organization to create a comprehensive neighborhood plan with neighbors and community stakeholders to dream about and plan the future of the neighborhood together.

Cover all startup expenses (registration fees and filings, website, and promotional expenses)
Hire people to help plan, coordinate, and pay for placemaking events in 2025 and beyond (Goodyear Heights Bicentennial 5K)
Initiate contracts with neighborhood planners to begin the process of creating a neighborhood plan for Goodyear Heights
